Technology That Empowers Me – BROGAN 100 #5
I am so glad to be living at this time in history. A decade ago, I might have had to get a real job. Even just two or three years ago- I’m pretty sure this business wouldn’t exist.
- WordPress
- A blogging platform that gives me a voice
- A CMS that turns me into a developer
- Plugins that do everything I can imagine, so I never have to pay a programmer
- The Atahualpa Theme, which allows me to be a web designer
- Google:
- Google Reader, which keeps me informed and connected
- Google Docs, which speeds up my workflow
- G-Mail, which is SO much better than Outlook
- Google Calendar, which actually keeps me on schedule
- Google Alerts, which is like my own personal spy
- Google Chrome, which is just really fast and convenient
- Print on Demand:
- CreateSpace, which turns me into a publisher
- Got Print, which turns me into a low-cost, high-quality print shop
I’m probably forgetting half the stuff I use. I’m amazed by all of this. One of the greatest things I’ve discovered is that if I need something to happen, somebody, somewhere has already figured out how to do it, and a lot of the time, they’re providing it for free. Ridiculous.
This is an amazing time of opportunity we live in.
Don’t waste it.
